The lack of poor families does not prevent these Sudanese children at the religious school in Khartoum, Sudan are trained to being a "Huffaz" (the person who memorize the Quran) using wooden planks made from local wood and wrote verses of the holy Quran for reading and memorizing.

To being a huffaz, they have to memorizing techniques practiced. The teacher will instruct students to write their own reading verses on the wood to sharpen memory and memorizing. While still unable to memorize, students cannot erase the reading verse written on the wood.

Sadly, there are several religious school known as madrasah that don't have enough Quran books and some of Quran books are almost age-old and not enough to sharing. They had to replace with the using of wooden planks written with the holy Quran verses . Also, there are no desk chairs and proper stationery, these Sudanese students are seen only studying in the sand-floored building in a pretty bad shape.

The majority of the students were found living in dilapidated dormitory, had a difficulties to survive because crammed with dozens of other students. There are some students who come 100km away from Khartoum, wandering through hot dry areas without the perfect transport service with the aim of transforming the family life into a preacher or a famous huffaz.
